My trip to the library might not have been so bad:
Librarian: “Oh, only one book today?”
But it was:
Librarian: “Oh right, you were in yesterday and took out a pile of books, right?”
Me: (looks guiltily away)
Now, the problem is that I have so many library books out (including 3 that still have to go back this week) and I want to read THEM ALL. Along with every book in my TBR pile. I’m going through a major panicky, there-are-too-many-good-books-out-there-and-I-can’t-read-fast-enough phase this weekend.
On a happier note, I did buy a book for my best friend’s birthday. Since I love Kristin Hannah, I bought her Night Road – my newest favourite book by the author. I’m also giving her my copy of Tina Fey’s Bossypants: I wasn’t a fan of it, but I’m pretty sure she’s actually a fan of Tina Fey, whereas I really don’t know her, so I’m sure she’ll like it.
Not so much in my mailbox this week, but rather an early birthday gift from my husband (I feel so special):
My very own Kobo reader! My birthday isn’t until March, but I’ve been researching e-readers and the hubby gave it the go-ahead today. I love the case for it and the reader itself. It’s very basic — for reading only — but will be great to have for traveling. One of the great things is that I can read Galleys on it and I can read library books on it. I can’t wait to start reading!
What’s in your mailbox?

Your Kobo put a smile on my face! How lovely!
And I know how you feel with libraries. I think we can only have 12 books out at a time here. I say only.. that’s like 2 or 3 months worth of reading for me, haha. But yeah, I’ve pretty much banned myself from libraries for the time being because I won’t read whatever I get out. And I have a list of books I want to reserve! *flail*
I have too many books AT HOME that I need to read, yet I still take out a ton from the library. I should really limit myself to 2 books at a time from the library, so I’ll actually read what I own.
You can only take out 12 books? I think I can take out up to 100 items … though, I have to pay for my library card, so maybe that’s why?
Thanks for visiting!
Love the case for your new eReader, and congrats on getting one! They’re very convenient for travel, and easier to read on the bus I find too.
Nice library books, I’ve got myself on a list for quite a few at the moment, knowing my luck they’ll all come in at once.
Thank you! The cases were brand new when I bought it … it’s a Valentine’s Day one, but I thought it went well with my love of books.
Funny story: I got Across the Universe and An Abundance of Katherines from the library this week too
I already read both of them and enjoyed them; hope you do too! And congrats on the Kobo! I love my ereader.
My IMM
Good to know! I especially look forward to An Abundance of Katherines.
Ooooh an e-reader!! I hope you enjoy that!! And Across the Universe is an AWESOME book!!! I hope you enjoy all you got
Here’s my IMM!
Thank you!!
I know I’ll enjoy it — I already am!
I loved Paper Towns! I hope you do too! It’s the only John Green book I’ve read. Need to fix that soon.
I hope you enjoy your books!
Here’s my IMM
I’ve only read Looking For Alaska … I agree, we must remedy ourselves and read more John Green!
Great set! I’m really curious about The Winter Palace. I want to read more John Green books.
My IMM
I’m curious, too. I’ve heard good things about it!
I love your Kobo case! They’re coming out with some really cute ones. Sucks that I have a Kobo that is one of the earlier generations, and therefore bigger, so I can’t use the new cases. But oh well, I love my little Kobo. Great pile of books, too! I loved Across the Universe, and actually just bought the second one, A Million Suns, to read on my Kobo
Feel free to check out my IMM here.
I love the case, too. It was pricey, but I thought it was fitting.
They don’t make the earlier generation one anymore I was told — I was going to maybe get that one instead of the Touch. I think you can get them online. My case is good, but the charger can’t plug in through it for some reason. Still love it, though!
