2012 Must Reads: Which books are at the top of your list to be read this year (new or old releases)?
What a question! You see, my problem is that I buy books at a much faster rate than I actually read them, so I have a ton of books from years past that I haven’t even read yet. In the past 5 years I’ve been buying books like crazy, I’ve also gone through major periods of non-reading, which I’m trying to avoid now that I started the blog back up this past October. So … I probably have 200+ books I’ve bought that need to be read, so those are the top of my list! Of course, there are so many good-looking YA books coming out this year that I want to read, too. Not to mention, review books that come in once in a while. It’s going to be a busy year of reading!!
Q: Many readers/bloggers are also big music fans. Tell us about a few of your favorite bands/singers that we should listen to in 2012.
If you’ve read my About Me section, you’ll realize that I am a huge music fan … and a musician! So I should probably say one of my favourite people to listen to (since I have to do it a lot) is myself, as I write and record new tunes. In fact, I’m pretty sure you can buy a lot of my stuff at CD Baby for only $5! What a steal!
(self promotion over)
Of course, when I’m not settled in at the piano for the day, and I want to listen to something else, some of my favourite artists include:
Sarah Slean (fave album: Night Bugs)
Hawksley Workman (fave album: For Him and The Girls)
My Brightest Diamond (fave album: Bring Me The Workhorse)
A Fine Frenzy
Florence and the Machine
Tori Amos (fave album: Night of Hunters, or Under the Pink)
Mumford and Sons
Jorane (fave album: The You and The Now)
Ben Folds Five & Ben Folds
William Shatner (fave album: Has Been)
and my list could go on and on …
