BOOK HOARDER’S SELECTION (16): My Life Next Door, by Huntley Fitzpatrick

BOOK HOARDER’S SELECTION, is a feature of Reading In Winter, which will feature one book from my collection that I plan to read in the coming week. These are NOT review books, but books I’ve purchased, which have been neglected for a long time.

TITLE: My Life Next Door

AUTHOR: Huntley Fitzpatrick

HOW LONG I’VE HAD IT: Since September — I won a copy of this from Kate at Ex Libris!

WHY I’M READING IT: I think it’s pretty obvious. First of all, we have that BEAUTIFUL cover! Second, everyone who has read this book seems to love it. Third, I feel like I’m the only person who hasn’t read this book yet! Fourth, it’s a LOVE STORY! First romances! Kissing!!

Add This Book on Goodreads

SYNOPSISA gorgeous debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another

“One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time.”

The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, numerous, messy, affectionate. And every day from her balcony perch, seventeen-year-old Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs her terrace and changes everything. As the two fall fiercely in love, Jase’s family makes Samantha one of their own. Then in an instant, the bottom drops out of her world and she is suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

A dreamy summer read, full of characters who stay with you long after the story is over.

  1. Yes, I really loved this one!! All the gushing reviews + the premise actually made me preorder it before reading, which never do. In this case it worked out, and I loved all the characters. There’s a crazy twist in it that I wasn’t especially fond of, but even despite that I gave this one 5 stars.

  2. I REALLY need to read it as well! From the sound of it and everyone’s love so far this will be one of those books that get me through the grey winter days 🙂

  3. I haven’t read this one yet, but I’ve been wanting to read it since wayyy before it even came out! I still don’t have a copy yet though…I need to get on that! haha It sounds like an amazing story. 😀 I can’t wait to hear what you think! 🙂
