COVER LOVE: A Little 2013 Cover Love

2013 is just around the corner and there are some GORGEOUS covers that will be on the bookshelves! Here are some of my favourites that I’ve been eyeing over the past months:

Shades of Earth (Across the Universe, #3), by Beth Revis
I know some will disagree, but I think the new covers, especially this one, are beautiful! I love how the greenery comes into play for the third book, but still with the ship in the background. I’m soooo excited for this book!

Etiquette & Espionage (Finishing School, #1), by Gail Carriger
I am so in love with this cover, it’s ridiculous! I love the colour, the swirls of clockwork on the purple background, the black and white girl, the scissors, the gold ampersand. It’s all so stunning!! (Psst — and the book is really good, too!)

Mind Games (Mind Games, #1), by Kiersten White
Seriously. How awesome is this cover? The colours are just so rich and bright, with the teal blue in the background and the girl’s super pink lips, the shadows, the pictures that make up the whole cover, and the big bold title. It all works perfectly together!

Hysteria, by Megan Miranda
I don’t even have words for this cover. I think it’s so attractive and eye catching and I just love the pop of red from the girl’s dress. And the empty picture frame? It just works, guys.

The Madman’s Daughter, by Megan Shepherd
I absolutely LOVE this cover. It’s dark and gritty and raw. And the HUGE title on it — in RED, no less — is just so great! I also love that it’s not white, but that off-white, creamy colour. It has almost a Spanish look to it.

Golden, by Jessi Kirby
I saw this first over on Jenni’s blog and I can’t stop looking at it! I love that splash of sunshine coming through, and that bit of golden lacework on the cover. The colours are so pretty!

Which 2013 covers do you like?

  1. Love the Mind Games cover! I like the Hysteria cover but I much prefer the UK one–although everyone seems to prefer this one. Figures 😉

  2. This year is going to be amazing for covers! We’re off to such a great start, I personally love the cover for Etiquette and Espionage! Anything purple has my vote

  3. Great picks Kristilyn. I’m on the fence about the new Across the Universe covers.

Plus I’m starting Etiquette and Espionage soon, so I’m glad you say it’s good!

  4. Okay, yes, AGREED (Etiquette & Espionage and The Madman’s Daughter, especially) – except for the Shades of Earth cover. It’s not that I think the new covers are bad, they’re just not nearly as intriguing and beautiful as the old covers were. Mainly though, I’m just annoyed that they changed the covers partway through the series so now my books won’t match. But yes, DYING for the book, too!

    • The old covers really were beautiful … I do wish the third one came out in the old cover! I love the new covers — I read Beth Revis’s take on them and what they all mean and it made so much sense!

I’m dying for that book SO MUCH! I can’t wait!
