Bookish Spotlight (3): Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Bookish Spotlight Button 2-01

Bookish Spotlight is a new feature for 2014. I wanted a feature that would showcase — in my opinion — the best books, or, the books that I absolutely love and can’t stop sharing with other people. These can be books, entire series — anything goes! My goal is that my readers might find a great new read after reading this feature.ย

anna and the french kissTitle: Anna and the French Kiss
Author: Stephanie Perkins
Released: December 2010

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris–until she meets ร‰tienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, ร‰tienne has it all…including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

Why it’s a favourite: Oh, Stephanie Perkins. How could this book NOT be a favourite? I mean, seriously! Stephanie Perkins is one of those authors who I just want to keep in my pocket. Her books are laugh-out-loud funny, cute, and full of such great romance — like, cute, swoon-worth romance that’s perfect for any day of the week. It’s hard to read this book and NOT smile. While Stephanie has a few books out (with Lola definitely being another favourite of mine), this one is my favourite. I just can’t get enough of Anna and Etienne, as well as the Paris setting. How can you not love a Paris setting? This is one of those books that I can read over and over again, and one that I’ve recommended to quite a few people. Read it!

Have you read this one?ย

  1. Excellent choice, Kristilyn! This is one of my favourite books too. Anna and Etienne are one of my favourite couples, and you’re right, you can’t go wrong with a Paris setting. It’s been almost a year since my last reread of this and I’ve been thinking it’s almost time for another reread!

    • Paris is a GREAT setting … I wish I could find more cute books like this one. I’ve reread it already and I was amazed at how quick the smile came back to my face. It’s just so good!

  2. I LOVE THIS ONE, TOO! ๐Ÿ˜€ Stephanie Perkins definitely writes adorable stories, and I am so excited to finally get to read ISLA AND THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER this August!
