[Book Talk] Always the Bridesmaid by Lindsey Kelk

Book Details:

Format: Paperback
Source: Bought
Read: April 2017

Synopsis:

The hilarious new summer bestseller from Lindsey Kelk, bestselling author of the I Heart series.

Everyone loves a bridesmaid – except Maddie, who’s perpetually asked to be one.

Everyone loves a wedding – except Maddie’s best friend, who’s getting divorced.

And everyone loves the way Maddie’s so happy behind the scenes – except Maddie herself.

One best friend is in wedding countdown while the other heads for marriage meltdown. And as Maddie juggles her best chance at promotion in years with bridezilla texts and late-night counselling sessions, she starts to wonder – is it time to stop being the bridesmaid?

My Thoughts

This book was so much fun! I was a little scared going in because I had just read Lindsey’s book We Were On A Break and it was just okay, so naturally I wondered if I wasted my money buying this book while on a book buying shopping spree. BUT, it was deliciously fun!

I would say that the synopsis is a bit misleading because I can’t remember Maddie always being the bridesmaid and it felt like that’s what the story’s focus would be, but instead it was more on her friendships with her best friends, while one is getting divorced and the other getting married, and Maddie is in the middle being pulled in two different directions. I loved the male leads in this story and the romance was perfect — though I wanted a little bit more.

But while I would say this was a romance, the story was mostly about friendship and not taking your friends for granted, as well as finding who you are and what you want in life. The whole story was so much fun and I loved how Maddie found herself — and love — along the way.

But don’t take my word for it … read some other reviews!
