It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield’s life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she’s successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat’s worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover’s finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.

As if that wasn’t enough, a woman from Bones’s past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat’s about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she’s learned as a special agent won’t help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself—and Bones—from a fate worse than the grave.

my thoughts-01

One thing I love about certain series books is how I can go so long in between reading the books, but still get totally immersed in the next one I pick up. It’s like the story just comes back to me the second I start reading and I fall in love with the characters once again. And really, with Bones and Cat, how can you not fall back in love with them?

First things first, we meet Vlad in this book! I had heard so many things about Vlad and how awesome he was and I am happy to say that, yes, he is indeed AWESOME. I can’t wait to start reading the spin-off series with his character because he’s just so handsome and quite the memorable character.  Continue reading

SYNOPSIS

Sarah and David have survived the zombie apocalypse. They stood side by side and fought the undead, mad scientists, and even bionic monsters until the unthinkable happened. A zombie bite. But not even that could stop them. Now, with a possible cure in hand, they’re headed east, looking for a safe zone behind the rumored “Wall.” They’re feeling pretty optimistic.

That is until Dave stops sleeping and starts lifting huge objects.

Eat. Slay. Love.

Because they haven’t got a prayer.

My Thoughts
I absolutely love this series. I think part of it has to do with the fact that I’ve listened to the entire series so far on audiobook — Cassandra Campbell is a great narrator and I really can’t imagine Sarah’s voice without the narration!

This was an awesome installment to the series. It was so good that I found myself listening to the entire thing in a day — something I don’t do very often when it comes to audiobooks. I just had to know what was going to happen! One of my favourite things about this series is how much the relationship between Sarah and David has evolved. When I started listening to it, I wondered where it would go, since they both hated one another, but now they’re filled with so much love that if they’re apart, I start to worry that something will happen.  Continue reading

SYNOPSIS

You can run from the grave, but you can’t hide…

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She’s still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.

Being around Bones awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline rush of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head – wanted: dead or half-alive – means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard Cat tries to keep things professional between them, she’ll find that desire lasts forever … and Bones won’t let her get away again.

My Thoughts

Words cannot describe how much I love Jeaniene Frost. I mean, SERIOUSLY, people. If you aren’t on the Cat and Bones train by now, you have definitely gotten your ticket at the wrong station. Or you just get the WRONG book recommendations. You should hang out with me more – I get all the GOOD recommendations.

Anyway, what I loved about this story was that even though I haven’t read the first book in a while (a few months), I could immediately dive into this story and get into it. I loved Cat and even though Bones wasn’t in the story in the beginning, I knew – I KNEW! – that good things were to come. I mean, Jeaniene Frost wouldn’t let me down! Continue reading
